Above is a screen capture of the new and improved Rolee Polee web site
SMALL FOOTPRINT, BIG PERFORMANCE
Yes, the official Rolee Polee website was down earlier this week because they were in the process of upgrading their web site and web servers. The good news is that the web site is back up and better than ever. The spot light of the website now goes to the new Rolee Polee trackball keyboard. This new keyboard features long range RF wireless technology and a high resolution optical trackball. It's ideal for computer presentations, conference rooms, PC based home entertainment centers, and anywhere a long range wireless keyboard with small foot print and built-in trackball is needed.
And keep in mind that sometimes you need the whole enchilada (keyboard with built-in trackball) and sometimes you just need a PowerPoint remote (just a remote mouse with slide advance buttons). It is a good idea to do a good assessment of your needs before you make a important technology decision.

Evolution of the Laptop Cooler

The above photo shows the early 3-fan cooler placed over the QuadCooler
The Evolution of the Laptop Cooler
Their first model was called notebook cooler and it was a small and very thin plastic platform that contained 3 fans. The biggest problem with the 3 fan cooler was not that it didn't have enough fans. No, the biggest problem is that the plastic construction was not strong enough or sturdy enough to handle the weight of the modern laptop computer. The plastic would tend to bend in on the fans and you could actually hear the fans rub against the fans. To be fair to the 3 fan cooler, it did work great with light weight laptops.
They Set Out to Design a Better Product
Their engineers analysed the problems with the 3 fan tricooler they recognized that the next laptop cooler had to be made of stronger, thicker plastic. It needed to be sturdy enough for the modern high powered laptop. For example, check out this high powered, gaming laptop by Sager Notebook Computer.
Here you can see the thickness comparison between the 2 coolers
The Dawn of a New Laptop Cooler
When the engineers were done designing the next generation of laptop cooler they came back with a 4 fan laptop cooler that was thicker, stronger, with special reinforcements structures around the fans that would prevent the plastic frame from bending in on the fans. The dimensions of the new laptop cooler were bigger than the original and that was to handle the larger dimensions of modern laptop or notebook computers with their ever increasing screen size. Low and behold a new paradigm in laptop cooling was designed. The makers of the QuadCooler are a good example of how you can learn from your mistakes to create a quality product like the QuadCooler laptop cooler.

IT'S GOT 4 FANS
IT'S GOT 4 FANS
You might suspect from the name QUADCOOLER that this device must have 4 fans (or 4 of something). Well, you're right it's got 4 fans to provide evenly balanced cooling to all the hot spots on the bottom of your laptop or notebook computer. Therefore, if cooling is your top priority, I would highly recommend you take a look at the QuadCooler laptop cooling system.
The QuadCooler is about half an inch thick (actually .7 in thick) so it makes it easy to pack along with your laptop. Typically, the QuadCooler fits in the big pocket that most laptop carrying cases have.
USED BY THE U.S. MILITARY
Now think about that for a moment. What do you think would be the top priorities for a soldier out in the field (especially in the hot desert climate of the Middle East). They were looking to find a product that met the happy medium between maximum cooling and easy to pack light weight rugged design. The US Army chose the QuadCooler because of those factors. They didn't need a fancy cooler with bells and whistles. No, they needed a practical, no nonsense cooling solution for their laptops out in the field in real world situations.
Now ask yourself, what am I looking for in a laptop cooler? Can those fancy coolers say that they have 4 fans? I didn't think so.
