Like a Radiator for your Laptop Computer

Think about it. Cars and Laptops are similar in the fact that they both generate lots of HEAT. With the automobile you want the engine to be warm, but not overly hot. However, in the case of the laptop computer, you strictly want the temperature to be as low as possible. In other words, you never want to "warm up" a laptop the way you would warm up a car. Computers actually run faster at lower temperatures. The main purpose of a laptop cooler is to protect you and the delicate components of your laptop from the dangers of heat, but a side benefit is that it could theoretically give you a tiny boost of computer performance.

QUADCOOLER IS MOVING

A Surge of Web Traffic
Due to a recent surge in web traffic and online visitors/shoppers, the QuadCooler website is moving to a new faster, more reliable web server. All this means is that for a couple of days from 4/22/08 to 4/24 08 the domain name QUADCOOLER.COM will be in a transition period between the new and old web servers.

What does this mean for me?
If you type QUADCOOLER.COM and you see a temporary message with a link to the new sever, then that means QUADCOOLER.COM took you to the old server. If you type QUADCOOLER.COM and you see diagram of the QuadCooler, then that means QUADCOOLER.COM took you to the new server. Hopefully by Thursday, April 24, 2008, the domain name will point everyone to the new web server.

Why are you moving?
We are moving to a new server to better handle the surge of traffic that we are receiving from visitors from all over the world. We have noticed that the surge of traffic was causing the old server to be very slow and even lock up at times.

What's so great about the new server?
The new server will feature a high performance Linux based operating system running on a dedicated IP address with multiple high speed internet connections. I have already noticed a big difference in both performance and reliability.

When does the new server become active?
The QuadCooler site has already been moved to the new server. It is only the domain name that takes 2-3 days to transfer over. Click here to test out the new web server and let us know in the comment section.

Toilet Paper Test

Above is a close up photo of a single square of toilet paper resting on top of the laptop's own internal cooling fan. If the toilet paper blows, the laptop is a "blower". If the toilet paper gets pulled down, the laptop is a "sucker".

Toilet Paper Test

I noticed on your website that the QuadCooler draws air down into the laptop cooler. How do I know if my laptop pushes air out or draws it into the laptop? I want to know so that the laptop fans don't work against the QuadCooler fans. Does that make sense???

My Laptop Sucks

Yes that makes sense. The QuadCooler will still help your laptop even if the fans are pulling air in different directions. However, it does make sense that the QuadCooler should work better if it is pushing air in the same direction as your laptop. To find out whether your laptop is a "sucker" or a "blower" you should give it the "Toilet Paper" test. Simply get one square of toilet paper and place it over the fan on your laptop. If the square blows off then you've got a blower. If the square gets sucked onto the grill of the fan then you've got a sucker. In theory the QuadCooler works best with "blower" type laptop fan. I hope this answers your question.

Truck Month at QuadCooler.com

THIS MONTH IS TRUCK MONTH AT QUADCOOLER.COM

Don't you just love it when Car Dealers announce that this month is the best time to buy a pickup truck because it's TRUCK MONTH at their car lot, but then you scratch your head and wonder, "Wasn't last month also TRUCK MONTH?". Well, at QuadCooler.com it's always TRUCK MONTH because each and every QuadCooler order gets delivered to FedEx via one of our trucks. And to celebrate TRUCK MONTH we are going to offer Special 5 Dollar Flat Rate Ground Shipping on most QuadCooler orders (You have to live in the lower 48 states of the United States of America to qualify). This offer is good only as long as we can afford it. The price of Diesel Fuel is skyrocketing and so is the cost of FedEx shipping, therefore, we will continue our Special $5 Shipping on a month to month basis. The good news is that April 2008 has been given the ok for Special $5 Flat Rate Ground Shipping. See map of the United States of America

LAPTOP MELTDOWN
Most people realize that laptops get hot, but have you ever seen a laptop get so hot that it actually melts. If you do a little searching on the Internet, you will find photos of melted laptops. Although the QuadCooler helps to keep your laptop running cooler, it cannot compensate for a laptop that has a broken or defective internal fan or a defective battery pack. Therefore, we don't guarantee that the QuadCooler can protect all laptops all of the time, because some laptops are either too old, broken, or just defective.

WHAT IS A LAPTOP COOLER?
A laptop cooler or notebook cooler is a device external to a laptop computer or notebook computer that is designed to lower the overall temperature of the portable computer. A typical laptop cooler consists of a rectangular platform about the same size or larger than the laptop computer. A laptop cooler may have a fan to facilitate the cooling process, but they don't necessarily have to have a fan. The platform by itself helps the laptop run cooler due to the fact that it provides a nice smooth surface which allows air to flow underneath the laptop. Most fanned laptop coolers have 2 fans, but there is a 4 fan laptop cooler called the "QuadCooler" that claims its evenly spaced fans provide more balanced cooling for all the hot spots on the bottom of the laptop. The fans on most of the laptop coolers are powered by a special USB cable that plugs into any available USB port on the laptop computer. Tip: If you want to reduce the power drain on your laptop battery, you can simply power down or unplug your laptop cooler and the smooth surface will still help your laptop run cooler. In addition, it still provides a heat barrier or heat shield between your lap and the laptop.

QuadCooler Website

Above is a screen capture of the QuadCooler.com website

www.QuadCooler.com
I talked with the webmaster of QuadCooler.com over the phone last week and he told me their site is was totally redesigned for 2008. He said that they think of the site like a work of art that is constantly evolving and that a good web site should be a fine balance between art and technology. On the technology end they have implemented new Flash Technology to power the contact forms. The Flash contact forms keep user data more secure and they protect both QuadCooler.com and their customers from SPAM robots that troll the internet looking for email addresses to add to their collection.

Lastly, he added that he would love to get feedback from users and customers on the new QuadCooler website. Therefore, if you would like to leave any comments or questions about the QuadCooler web site, please use the comment section below.
